Paul Plays St Andrews
Club Member and County President Paul Longden was in St Andrews this week for the purpose of showing his daughter around the university. However as the picture shows he was spotted on the old course where he allegedly shot a 75, but which coloured tees he played off is unclear.
County Team Play High Peak
Club member and County President Paul Longden arranged for the Derbyshire County Team to play a friendly match against the Club on Sunday 4th November.
A damp and dreary day was brighten by some scintillating play from both sides.
In the top match the 1st team county captain Dan Housley and 2nd team captain Wayne Mayo narrowly defeated Paul Longden and club captain Drue Turner winning the last hole to claim the match 1up.
Ian Hannah & Ron Clark won their match. Phil Godfrey & Steve Leigh halved, whilst Paul Waring & Mick Bagguley, Phil Norton & Tony Gee, Nick Berry & Mick Plimmer all narrowly lost their matches.
The final result of 4.5 to 1.5 to the county was a fair reflection on the day
The day concluded with the chiefs Sunday carvery which was appreciated by all..
County captain Dan Housley praised the condition of the course and thanked the Club for the wonderful hospitality given to the team, especially the drinks and snacks provided by the Lady Captain on the 12th tee.
