Buggy Guidance

Guidance for Buggy Users

These guidelines are based on the guidance issued by England Golf (2018).

Aim

The aim of this guidance is to set out the circumstances in which buggies may be used at Buxton and High Peak Golf Club.

The Council wishes to encourage the participation in golf of all players, regardless of their age, their health or any disability, in accordance with the Equality Act 2010. The use of buggies by members and visitors is one way of encouraging such participation.

Conditions of use

Buggy drivers should be over the age of 18 and have appropriate insurance.

Permission to take a buggy onto the course rests with the Head Greenkeeper (or his representative) or Professional who may refuse permission if the weather conditions are likely to cause the buggy to damage the course or for other unspecified reasons.

Buggy drivers must always exercise courtesy, care and consideration towards others.

Buggy speed should never exceed a brisk walking pace.

Whenever possible, the buggy track must be used to avoid damage to fairways and vulnerable parts of the course.

Under no circumstances should buggies be driven closer than 5 metres (5.4 yards or 16 feet) to any green or green surround.

*******

These are common sense guidelines and if any buggy user does not understand the thinking behind them, please contact any Council member.

The Council thanks buggy uses for their co-operation and respecting these guidelines which will be of benefit to both members and visitors.
